Idle Hands

Two whole days off.
Two in a row! Sunday and Monday Together, side by side and I don't have to work.
I can sit and watch the milk turn into yogurt if I wanted to. I could study the growth of my fingernails, if that was my thing. It ain't.

It's kinda hard to decide on what to do when you finally get a large block of freedom to play with. You'd think it was easy, but it's not. Maybe if you can imagine being really hungry and then going to a smorgasbord and you can't decide what it is you wanna eat.

Speaking of food. I had lunch at Mickey-D's the other day and you'll never believe what has become a HUGE hit in Japanland. Are you ready for this?
The Quarter Pounder WTF? Is it like, 1973 here? I guess the Japanese, like the rest of the world, have finally given up on trying to convert Americans to the metric system and have allowed the burger to enter the country legally. It is well known that Quarter pounders and their cohorts with cheese have been illegally crossing the border for many years now.

I for one am glad this new phenomenon has occurred. Now I no longer have to explain a certain scene in Pulp Fiction and can just sit back and relax until Arnold the pig is mentioned.

By now I have just wasted about twenty minutes of my day. Well not really wasted it. I nibbled on some cheese while writing this. Maybe I am a rat after all.

I just couldn't help but think that there are even more ways to waste my time while waiting for dearest Crispy to wake up from her beauty sleep.
I decided to clean out our storage room but I wasn't sure where I ought to put the stuff. I figured this guy could help me out

Absolutely! Leave it to the pros. While that's being taken care of I might as well go out and see if I can't pick up some new furniture for my digs.

I don't believe that two days will be enough to cure what ails me, do you?

Two days is never enough. But every weekend, I try again.

If at first you don't succeed, drink , drink again.

Actually I went bowling again and tossed a couple of bucks into the video arcade. Pretty refreshing.

Now that sounds like the old NYD I know and love. Oh the old days at the arcade and bowling until we were thrown out for indecent acts of...oops, sorry nearly gave away my little secrets. But I have a feeling that you'll find all you need for your place and enjoy doing it too.

I'd seen Jones' Good Ass BBQ & Foot Massage, but not this one. Good stuff.

Two days is never enough. Disappears like nothing.

Some of my Japanese students would talk at great length about consuming "the American diet" back in Nippon. I thought it kinda strange how something so mundane to me had become so exotic. More interestingly, they attributed American food to increasing numbers of tall Japanese (in fact the woman who first said this was six feet even). I don't know if that's true or not, but I have been intrigued about that, and about the consequences of that (e.g., tall people consume more resources, require more space, and so on).

You could always spend the time downloading porn and masturbating. I'll bet it's a lot easier to find Japanese porn over there than it is in Georgia. Of course, in my experience, Japanese porn tends to suck, so maybe you can attempt to download our superior American porn.

Halvah~ Arcades over here are more like mini gambling casinos these days. Sure there are still the traditional pac-man snd shoot 'em up games, but now more than half of the area is devoted to either horseracing or slots or those shitty little machines we used to see at street fairs and Coney island. You have to see it to believe it.

Kurt~ I am not sure if he's serious or just panning himself, but he is a lot of fun to watch.

Carla~ I feel the same way even if I get a week.

X-Dell.~ Yeah, I've heard that for years. They attribute it to the increase in protein, but now that "diet" is the bane of their existence. The high fats and empty calories has created a drastic increase in waistlines.

Do tall people consume so much more? Maybe if we are comparing brobdingnagians to Liliputians. The only real problem is with door ways- older ones tend to top at 175-180cm and anyone who is 6' will recieve a smack in the head every now and then.

Grant~ Porn would be great if it sucked. Because it doesn't it's just plain messy.

I'm on day 35 of my indefinite, unpaid vacation...the grass isn't greener over here.

The phrase "double-quarter" makes no sense...no wonder it's a hit!

Two days off in a row are WONDERFUL. But two are never enough, not when there are Quarter Pounders to eat and stuff, stuff, and more stuff to do. I hope you've enjoyed them to the max!

two whole days! Sounds lovely, and yI might have said "I only have two days off". Funny, how getting older changes the perception of time.

I hope you spent it doing nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Thanks for checking in on me! :)

Really, Lime. This Huge Jackman's thing is getting outta hand.

Allan~ I went in today and asked for a half pounder. I wish I had recorded the looks I got on film.

SJ~ I did enjoy them, but now I'm sittin on a Wednesday and all the joy has been sucked from my soul. Hyperbole.

SAW~ I agree. Yet it's not only the amount of time it's the company I keep while in recuperation that counts for much

Mrs.C~ I believe that the world is a better place with you in a groove.
Stay groovy!

Two days of freedom is never enough. Simply wets the appetite for more. Speaking of which - the quarter pounder now available in Japan? They are welcome to it. Stopped going to Mickey-D’s long ago – too many upset stomachs after eating there. Coincidence? I think not.

I'm a huge fan of Quarter Pounders. Much easier to eat while driving than a Big Mac.

Having worked at the golden arches in my youth, I like to think that I was the one that made Mr.Tarentino the quarter pounder that inspired him to write that scene.

Two days off? Err....that's what I have EVERY WEEK for the last 10 years. :-)

I rarely eat at McD's now but I remember the best one I had was in Monaco over 15 years ago. I was young and poor and backpacking across Europe. After weeks of surviving on cheap baguette and cheese from the supermarket, I finally "splurged" on a McD burger and let me tell ya, it was like heaven.

Oh now I am craving a hamburger! grrr

I hope you enjoy your big 2 days off! Do more than blog and eat cheese please! It will make for a more interesting post! hehehe

Have a great weekend!
