January 01, 2011

1. 1. 11.

Waking up to the bright and glorious morning of the new year and viewing the awesome aftermath of nature's onslaught, I am confronted with the desire to leave my surroundings in their ethereal beauty and the unavoidable necessity of spoiling this evanescent picturesqueness.

There are, or at least there ought to be, moments when you just want the inexorable sweep hand to just take a vacation as opposed to those moments, of which there are far too many, where the push of the fast forward button is all you can think about; a speedy escape from all the troubles that assail you.

Yet now, with the opening pages of this book called 2011 we have a multitude of those very same said choices and moments before us. How will we balance the inevitable marring of the pages as we write upon them day after day with the desire to keep the penmanship pretty and grammar correct? The syntax of our actions during the next year will undoubtedly get mixed up from time to time, but as long as we keep the mistakes to a fair minimum, they will most likely be forgiven or even better; overlooked.

I am quite happy to put 2010 behind me. I don't know if I learned anything new about myself during the year, but I did learn a lot about the way I was behaving and it's effect on the people around me. I've got plans for this year, who hasn't? I have this one last chance to get it all straightened out and back on track. Like many games, races or competitions it often comes down to those final moments...and I'm in the homestretch.

Oh, by the way, what do you guys think about internet dating? Pathetic or potentially good?

Glorious photo NYD, such a beautiful sight to wake up to.
Very best wishes for a Happy New Year, I hope it is a wonderful year for you filled with all of the things that make you happy.
I have no plans for this year, I am just going to take each day as it comes.

Internet dating? It could be a start, an introduction to a relationship but I think meeting up with a real person might be a better way to go.

xoxoxo ♡

Internet dating is one more tool in your arsenal. Use it.

One reason I don't like Internet dating because of the awkward word verification before my date will open her door.

You snuck back while I was away. I'm very happy to leave 2010 behind and move on to a new year, too.

Happy binary day.

Internet dating seems pathetic on the outside, but my best friends met in an online forum and have been happily married for years. So it can work as a way to meet people, but I don't think it can replace actual dating or relationships.

I'm tired of snow myself, but that IS a beautiful scene there.

I don't know how the Book of 2011 will read. What I do know is that if the read isn't better than 2010, I ain't reading any more.:)

Internet dating: All I can tell you is that it works quite well for some people, not so much for others. As far as I'm concerned, you have to meet people somehow, so why not?

Happy New Year, Dude.

I'm not so good at grammar and syntax. Or dating. But I do like the turning of a new year. It seems to make things possible again, somehow.

That's a fabulous photo.

Thanks for the kind words Diane. I feel that most of us, no matter what plans we make, are forced to live life from day to day. That ain't such a bad thing, is it? It's just as important to know where you are as it is to know where you hope to be ...

Kurt: The tool is sharpened and ready for battle. lol

Stay hopeful, Lime! Sometimes it's keeping the hope in the forefront of our thoughts that causes then to materialize .

SAW: Strange that you said it that way...It did feel as if I were sneaking back in....Like a teen after curfew.

Grant: I only check out gals who live within a reasonable distance to my city...But I'll do my best to collect pics from all the others so you can post them on your blog.

Pug: My last word veri. was land shark....

SJ: I am amazed at how many foreign "brides" that want to meet me. LMAO!

Meagan: Yes! It does seem to clear the slate and let you start again. A 'do-over' of sorts...

(1) I'm hoping you take the lead in the homestretch and finish five lengths ahead.

It's good to see you posting again.

(2) Nice pic.

"Brides?" LOL. Does that mean that if I signed up, I'd be flooded with offers from foreign grooms? God forbid!:-)

Why hello there! I don't know what made me check your blog after all this time, but I'm glad I did. Happy New Year to you!

Internet dating? Why not? I met my husband through a personal ad and know a good half dozen people in long term relationships thanks to Match.com, etc. If I were single again, I'd hit the 'net. It's not the only way to meet people, but it sure puts more fish in your pool.
