What's the frequency, Kenneth?

I got something to say. Well I had something to say until I started rat-a tat-tapping at my keyboard. You know, everything these days has got to make some kind of sound: my washing machine beeps and buzzes to let me know when to add the softener and my rice cooker blares out a wake up call to tell me that breakfast is served. My cell phone makes an array of sound effects that reminds me of the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. Why can't I program my computer to sound like an Underwood typewriter at the desk of a busy ace reporter in the 1930's?

I am getting a little bit tired of the noise. Not the clamour and cacophony that reigns in the air around me. It's the stuff that rattles inside my head and keeps me awake at night that I'm worried about. There are times when I am sitting across the table from a person and eventhough I am holding conversation with them I can't hear a word they are saying.

How often do you get lost in the fly-ways and by-ways of your thoughts so deeply that you just can't seem to be bothered with the world around you?
Can the imagination replace reality to a point where you are nothing more than a robot on the outside; going through the motions of everyday life while within the realm of the mind you are travelling into unexplored lines of thought and creating a new and, as of yet, unexplored land of fantasy?

I know I don't really live in a world of make believe. It's more like living on the border where you can see both towns and wonder what's going on.

What's going on?

My computer has a voice - Victoria. She is a pesky bitch. If I forget to answer a question and wander out of the room, I hear her ask in something like ESL speak "Do you really want to shut the system off." Like Nike says, "Just do it" and shut up, Victoria.

There is so much noise in the world.

This time of year especially...my head won't be quiet. So much to do and tend too. But is it all really necessary? This is my quandary.

HUGS!!

Corn Dog ~ Your computer's name is Victoria? Mine is Beyonce; it keeps my wife Crispy.

Grunt~Time to put in ear plugs my friend.

Leelee~ Necessary or not, it's there and untill the season passes we gotta deal with it. Try to have fun.

You know, Monty Python had some software that would allow you to simulate a typewrite as you keyboard.

Another thing with sound? Try your digital camera. It doesn't need to make the "click" sound anymore; that was a shutter camera. They just kept it in because people didn't know if the shot had actually been taken without hearing that click...

I've heard that "I am Legend" uses silence specifically to capture a certain effect from it's audience. We'll see...

Oooo, yes, it's a noisy, noisy world. I'm glad my computer is fairly silent, though. When it makes noises, I get scared because I know it's getting ready to do something awful. You don't want to know what its name is at those times.:)

VE~ Will have to try and find that software. Here in Japan all the digital cameras on phones have to make some kind of noise when taking a picture because of all the perverts trying to get up skirt shots of women on trains and escalators. LOL.

Serena~ When computers go 'south' I am pretty sure we all give them the same name.

I always wondered about that Scary Monster character and what he looked like, I think I have a good idea now.
Say 'Hi' to the guy, we miss his STOMPs.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I like the sound of the ocean I live by....the strange ringtones all around I could easily live without.

Charles~ Thanks for the link. Will be seeing the Monster next week and will definitely say hello to him for you.

Marky~ The pleasure was all mine! LOL. Living by the ocean must be nice. I have nothing but mountains here. I miss seeing the sunrise/set on the water

STOP THE PRESSES!!
STOP THE PRESSES!!!
....er sorry, no particilar reason for saying that, The old Underwood reminded me of that..
So you are saying that in today's world of modern Technology, you can make your ring-tone sound like a pig, or play The Flight of the Valkyries, but you can't get the old Typing sounds out of your PC?
That's Outrageous!!!
Have a good day...And BTW what day is it?
If it's 10:30 AM Sunday here..is it like Thursday there?
Have a good one, and thanks for visiting my blog...Galen

Your computer does not make noise???

Then why does mine do??/

Gee, I hope nothing is wrong with my computer...

..And you feel something is wrong with yours...

Strange how two opposite things ( one noisy computer and another silent) can evoke the same thought : ' something is wrong with the computer'...

G-Man~ Too funny! LOL
Thanks to Charles I now can make the keyboard sing, but it's kinda noisy so I have to type with my earphones on.

Mona~ Thanks for dropping by.
You seem to hit on something there. People can look at seemingly opposite situations and yet come to the same conclusions. Interesting.

Well at least I can help you recreate the frequent event of typewriter keys sticking. And all you need is a bottle of maple syrup.

Pssst -- Puggy. Maple syrup is good, but I find that chocolate syrup works better.

NYD, it's just too bad I don't live in NYC. If I did, I'd go hang out in Central Park with you and The Monster.:)
