Who are you?

I know that I have missed a lot of posts.
I missed the mute Monday and I didn't post my Fifty-five. there is a bit of here and there that I didn't get to, Ehhhhh, Stuff happens. In fact it often turns into stuff with hair on it

So what do I want to talk about??
something that is completly off the mark.
I want to talk about music- specificallly The Who.
I don't know what kind of music you listen to and it doesn't really matter. The arts bind us all together in some way or another either with agreement or dissention. We all have an opinion as to what looks, sounds, feels and appears to be good or at least in good taste.
For some reason that I can't explain I have always been attracted to the words and music of The Who. Whether I am feeling up or down or somewhere in between there is a song that matches my mood. The stirring vocals of Rodger Daltry and sultry lyrics of Pete Townsend balanced with the dichotomy of the unbalanced Kieth Moon, who must have been the inspiration for the Muppet show's Animal, and The Ox probably one of the greatest and most influential bassists of all time.

Now I listen to a lot of music, in fact it's the one sane and sensible thing I have done throughout my entire life. So many things come and go, but I always find myself tying it to my memories with a tune.
The Who is one band which stands far ahead of any other of being able to strike the exact chord in me that needs to be strummed.

Funny. This is Mute Monday and I feel like talking about music.
March is starting to seem oxymoronic to me.

Very nice. Happy MM!

As for The Who, I don't think I truly appreciated just how great they were until Spike Lee showcased "Baba O'Riley" in Summer of Sam. A highly under appreciated film and one of the greatest comments on the cultural and political sea change in America that began in 1977.

Thank you Kate. I liked the photos you posted as well.

Troll~ Do you visit everyone who posts a MM? It must keep you quite busy.

Moi~ I didn't realize that "Summer of Sam" didn't get high marks. I happen to love Spike Lee's work, although I don't remember all the music in the soundtrack. I lived through the son of sam event and was probably riding high with The Who at the time.
