Regally Chivas

Tonight I am not in Japan...
Walking I am, through the moss cove rd dales and valleys of Speyside.
In the shadows of Strathisla I sit and strum off key on a weathered and worn guitar.

A very, very generous person gave me a bottle of whisky today.
I am convinced that whisky or whiskey, if you prefer the Irish, is without a doubt the most aptly named libations in the world. Uisge-beatha, The water of life is not only used to describe whiskeys but also: Akvavit, a Scandinavian, vodka like spirit that tickles the tongue with an essence of caraway and In Japan as 命の水" (Inochi no Mizu) which both describes whiskey and Sake- Nihonshu 日本酒. Here's one thing that you just might not have known . There are more sake producers in Japan than there are whiskey producers in Scotland Ireland and America combined! Actually I'm just saying that, I don't have any real numbers to back that statement up.

Listen, I can bend yer ear for hours about alcohol and cocktails, but that would only make me a boor.

What is your "water of life" and please don't tell me it's Evian.

I used to joke that water was more expensive than gasoline, but these days the joke just doesn't get many laughs.

How many bodies does your car get to the gallon?
There! I've said it.
Ooooohhhhhhhhh you are a naughty boy.

We are surrounded by fairly reasonable ways that one can live copacetically with the world around us, but we just can't be bothered with the effort it takes to both live with each other and the reality of the morning and another work week.

See ya around.

Mountain Dew is always good for what ails me. But to keep my weight down I usually drink Diet Coke or water. Then again, I drink Essiac tea every morning. It tastes like something dispensed out of a cow's ass, but it is excellent for your health.

My truck can get quite a bit of bodies to the gallon. The great part is that I can haul the evidence off and dump them off in the desert somewhere. No, the best, best part is the pack of dogs that follow my truck around because of the smell. How's that for ya?

I hardly drink at all these days, but when I do it's scotch. No particular brand.

when I was able to enjoy life before giving up my vices I have to say it was Wild Turkey 101, with a bud chaser. If I want to go easy and seek something sweet, Baily's Irish Cream...YUM! on the rocks or for those really freezing cold nights, in a nice hot cup of coffee-irish style w/o the whiskey.
Oh the good ole days....Red Rock, How I miss you and your wonderful atmosphere. Hiccup! JG

well...I think its apparent from my blog lately that my elixir is a combo of champagne, belgian beer and baileys...not all in one sitting, however.

I don't drive a car. Proud to be able to say that, at least, given the carbon footprint I have from trips home this year.

We are moving to a simpler life...I can feel it...I just hope its not too late.

I'm with JG...I too have given up my vices..

In my past however, I enjoyed a well prepared vodka martini with olives, up.

and I do miss a good ale every now and again.

I have an '07 Civic. a tank of gas lasts me 2 weeks...OH YEAH!

My tiny little Smurfmobile gets a pretty good bodies-to-gallon ratio.

Most of the time, my favorite elixir is Coke Zero. When I want a little zing, though, I do like vodka and rum, and maybe a little tequila every now and then.

Anejo tequila, preferably Jose Cuervo 1800 Reserva Antigua. One of my cars gets about 38MPG, the other about 17. We live 20 minutes from town in the woods. I have long thought this was a bad idea, as much as I love it. Build up, not out, is my motto.

Ok, If I am not supposed to say Evian, I will make it a cocktail of some heavy capsules and tablets and antioxidants and multivitamins with Evian!

Some things need no bothering about...

I am drinking less and less lately, but I cannot stop drinking a good glass of wine. Just had a SIMI merlot yesterday that was delicious...
