Many hats, many pairs of shoes.

Will this man help me improve the quality of my life?

I sure hope so.
I am getting pretty tired of allowing mediocrity to encroach on my life, making it hum-drum and filled with unclaimed dreams.
Like the inexorable force of gravity, doubt resolutely infects the mind leaving us with the inability to become happier, more satisfied people.

I don't particularly like self help books. In fact, if you really want to know the truth, I find them abhorrent. Reducing a problem in a person's life and trivializing it by making it generic and comparable to everyone else's is just plain stupid.

I like the fact that my troubles, like everything else about me is wholly individual and while certain aspects of my difficulties may seem similar, they aren't.

I like books. I enjoy reading and allowing myself to enter a world created from someone's imagination, but I don't think books in themselves or the stories within them are important unless they allow you to participate by freeing your mind of some kind of preconceived notion or open you eyes to a different way of thinking. The rest are all pretty much a waste of time and fit for nothing more than lining the bottom of the bird cage or possibly a substitute for when you run out of toilet paper.
Now we all cannot possibly agree as to whether a book is mind expanding or not. That too, is a personal opinion and subject to the vagaries of the reader.
This book (And I am not finished with it yet.) has been a real surprise to me. I has started to make me look at one of my vices in a completely different light. The other thing I like about this book is that it doesn't pull any punches. The direct, yet gentle, mannner of expressing the opinions of the author leaves me constantly considering the veracity of the statements written between the covers.
If you have ever considered quitting smoking of know someone who you believe needs to, send this book their way.

Cool! Yeah, I'm usually turned off by books like this but occasionally I have to give it up to one or two that seem to really work.

I took a look at his website. I like his methodology. I agree that you have to change your perspective to achieve success. I think you are on to something with Mr Carr. Keep at it..

Grunt~ This one seems to be one of the diamonds in the pile of coal. The only other authors I have ever thought were worth reading from the genre were Og Mandino and Napoleon Hill.

Pink~ I find his ideas applicable to other areas of my life as well. It's worth the look.

Corndog~ He is! Yet some folks preach the right stuff.

Leelee~ Will do what I can. I feel compelled to make this year better than the last one.

I don't know anything about this guy or his philosophy, but if it's something you're interested in exploring, go for it! An open mind is always a good thing to have.
